5 Different Ways To Optimise Your Content For SEO

Simple enough right? Optimise your online presence to get found on Google, increase your traffic through search engine results. 

As Google searches are always evolving, it’s important that your content evolves with it. But it’s not as complex as it sounds, and there are some simple tips and tricks that can help you maximise your potential online. 

We’ve compiled a list of 5 different ways to optimise your content for SEO, let’s get into it: 

Researching keywords

This is always the key place to start. Pun intended?

A piece of content should target 1 primary keyword, with no more than 10 additional keywords to follow. The content should be focused enough that the keywords come easily to you, and can be easily summarised. But by including too many keywords you’ll be doing more damage than good – so keep it minimal. 

If you still need added assistance in helping identify these keywords, you need to identify your audience. What are they going to be looking for? What do you think they are going to be asking online? You want to be the one to answer those questions – summarise that with the keywords. 

Incorporating the keywords 

The title is the best place to include these keywords, as the title should link to why the audience are searching in the first place. Keep it short and succinct, but ensure that it will motivate users to click. A call to action is often useful to include to ensure a reaction from the audience. 

If your title is a bit longer, it’s not a disaster! Make sure to put the keywords nearer the front to guarantee they’re going to be noticed. 

Throughout the entirety of the content, it is important to include the keywords, but in a *normal* amount. Basically, don’t make every other word the keyword, but include it within the main body. Easy enough?

Structure and readability 

As obvious as it may seem, your content needs to be structured well, and it needs to read well. This can have two meanings. 

Firstly, your content should be easy to scan through. Write shorter paragraphs that deal with one idea at a time, and divide longer sentences so that they aren’t so lengthy. The main points you cover should be highlighted, whether that is bold, underlined, different size or a different colour – make these points stand out. 

Secondly, is your content structured in a mobile friendly way? Mobile accounts for approximately half of web traffic worldwide, so if your content isn’t optimised for mobile, you’re going to be isolating a MASSIVE audience. Not good. 

Is the URL readable? 

Again, this may be a simple question but it can influence the traffic to your content massively. The URL will help your audience understand what the content is about. 

You want the URL to be descriptive, but still as short as possible and easy to read. You want your audience to understand exactly what is in the content, to encourage them to click once more. 


Lastly, you should make links internally to your relevant content, and to show search engines the validity of your website. If you’ve mentioned something you’ve already written about, link it. This will help to keep your audience on your platform and reinforces you as relevant within search engines. 

If your content doesn’t appear to be growing, you should make sure it’s not getting left behind as a result of poor SEO. Once you identify these key points, and make the necessary changes, you should see a difference in your traffic.
